FC Capital announces new closed-ended private credit fund

Sydney based FC Capital, an alternative asset management firm with a primary focus on private debt, today announced the launch of its new private credit fund, named the FC Senior Credit Fund I (Fund). The Fund is a closed-ended fund aiming to raise up to A$300 million, with the ability to expand the raise up to $A500 million.

The Fund will provide a unique exposure to a selection of small and mid-market Australian and New Zealand companies that typically are not, or have not been, serviced by traditional banks in those jurisdictions.

The Fund will pursue a direct lending strategy across a selection of defensive sectors providing exposure to senior debt, unitranche, specialty finance and securitisation facilities, aimed at providing enhanced risk adjusted returns to investors.  Target companies will have an EBITDA of a minimum of A$2.5 million per annum with minimum credit investments of A$10 million.

The new fund is part of FC Capital’s expansion of its current credit investment platform, targeting institutional investors across the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific to service its Australian and New Zealand business.  As part of the launch of the new Fund, FC Capital will also expand its investment and asset management team in Sydney.

FC Capital’s CEO, Christian Brehm said: “FC Capital has built up a unique network of opportunities over the last decade with opportunities in Q1 2023 exceeding A$600 million.  The new FC Senior Credit Fund I will be supporting our deployment and investments in addition to our other current funding sources and allow us to capitalise on the growth in the private credit market in Australia and New Zealand with the goal of becoming a leading private credit lending platform.”
