James has over five years of experience in banking, with a strong focus on leveraged finance, supporting mergers, acquisitions, and event-driven transactions for institutional and corporate clients. Prior to joining FC Capital, he worked in ANZ New Zealand’s Leverage Finance & Structured Solutions team. He also developed expertise in loan documentation and contract negotiation during his time in ANZ’s Institutional Loans and Markets Execution team.

James holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Finance and Commercial Law) from Victoria University of Wellington. His background also includes experience across the energy, government, and legal sectors, providing him with a broad and well-rounded foundation in financial services.
